Barcelona sign up Arturo Vidal

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has signed a three-year deal with Barcelona, the club announced on Monday.

"Winning everything. During the three-year contract, I hope we can win everything we play for," a club statement quoted Vidal as saying.

"I am excited to play with Messi, Suarez, Sergio Busquets… they are all great players."

Barcelona gave no further details of the deal.

Vidal, 31, played for Bayern Munich for three seasons after being transferred to the German giants from Italian powerhouse Juventus in 2015.

He is expected to strengthen Barcelona's midfield after Brazilian midfielder Paulinho's departure from the club.
