Mkhitaryan wants Arsenal move

According to SportFackt, Borussia Dortmund’s Armenian star Henrikh Mkhitaryan is interested in joining Arsenal this summer.

Mkhitaryan has one year left on his contract and an extension has yet to be agreed. According to reports, negotiations have been on the rocks for months and Dortmund are not convinced they can get a deal done. Apparently, they're hoping to cash in the player and hope to receive a fee of around £24 million.

According to Russian media outlet, SportFackt, Arsenal have already held talks with the players agent, Mino Raiola, and the club plans on discussing a fee with Dortmund in the near future.

Mkhitaryan was linked with the Gunners earlier this year when the Guardian revealed him as one of a few Arsenal targets this summer. The club is in need of an additional goal scoring threat with only Alexis and Olivier Giroud hitting the back of the net at satisfactory numbers this past season.

Additionally, the wings are perceived as one of Arsenal's weaknesses in terms of depth and Mkhitaryan would certainly be an upgrade there.

While Mkhitaryan would be a welcome addition to the squad, this seems like a classic example of an agent putting pressure on a club to improve their client's current deal.

With one-year left on his contract, and negotiations clearly on going, Raiola is simply driving up his client's price by fabricating interest.

These stories are usually linked from one party and there is always an agenda.
