Despite being under UEFA's financial restrictions, Galatasaray had a busy and successful transfer window. Yellow Reds lightened their budget by sending 16 players away and added 7 new names to the roster. Serdar Aziz, Pedro Cavanda, Eren Derdiyork, Tolga Ciğerci, Josue, Nigel De Jong and Sigthorsson only cost Galatasaray 14 million Euros and they gathered 10 million of it from Telles, Rodriguez and Dzemailli's sales.

Galatasaray management invited fans, who did not seem to be interested in season tickets, to Arena. "We deal with the pitch, you have the stands" is their motto for this season. Management also added that season tickets are still on sale.
Happiest coach
Unlike Fenerbahçe Coach Dick Advocaat and Beşiktaş Coach Şenol Güneş, Jan Olde Riekerink is really happy at the moment. He thanked to Galatasaray officials Mehmet Özbek and Levent Nazifoğlu after Sigthorsson and De Jong signed by his club. Riekerink said "The rest is my job."
