Rampant Marseille top of French Ligue 1

League leaders Olympique de Marseille cruise past Toulouse 2-0 at home, Gignac scores again

France's top football division, Ligue 1, completed its tenth week on Sunday.

Last Friday, defending champions Paris Saint-Germain won against Lens 3-1.

PSG came back after being 1-0 down in the first half thanks to goals scored by French midfielder Yohan Cabaye and Brazilian left-back Maxwell. Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani sealed the win by scoring from the penalty spot.

In second half of the game, two players from Lens -- Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Jerome Lemoigne -- as well as PSG's Cavani, were sent off.

League leaders Olympique de Marseille toppled Toulouse 2-0 in their home ground, the Stade Velodrome, on Sunday.

Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou and French target man Andre Pierre Gignac's goals allowed Marseille to win the match and thus remain top of the league.

Meanwhile Olympique Lyon stunned Montpellier yesterday with an extravagant 5-1 victory at the Stade de Gerland.

Their triumph was thanks to their French attacking midfielder Yoann Gourcuff scoring twice, as well as French-Algerian attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, forward Alexandre Lacazette and Belgium-born French midfielder Steed Malbranque all scoring a goal each.

This week's results are as follows:
