"Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Ajax to sign Daley Blind, subject to a medical and personal terms," said a statement published on Manchester United's official website.
Daley Blind has been playing for Ajax since 2008, when he was recruited from the club's youth division. Dutch international has 19 caps for the Netherlands and one goal. He also spent half a season on loan with FC Groningen, another side from Dutch first division Eredivise, between January and July in 2010.
Although the transfer fee was not announced, German sports website "Transfermarkt" claimed a sum of 17.5-million-euros ($23 million).
The club also said a further announcement would be made when the process was complete.
If the deal goes through, Blind will be the Red Devils' fifth summer signing this season along with Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera.
