The 33-year-old was recently released from the Spanish First Division side and has strongly been linked with a move to Lazio in recent days but a more lucrative offer could arrive from Turkey for the player.
According to Superdeporte, both Besiktas and Trabzonspor are the most likely sides to sign the player whose deal at Valencia was earning him around €3 million per season.
The Portugal international spent four years with Valencia and previously enjoyed successful spells with Porto where he won four league titles and was part of the Champions League winning squad in 2003-04 before he moved to Wolfsburg and played a part in winning the German First Division in 2008-09.
