Mesut Özil to be the first Turk to play for Real Madrid
Real Madrid has signed the German National Team’s 21-year-old Mesut Özil for 15 million euros. The young player will earn five million euros annually.

With his contract with Werder Bremen coming to an end next season, Mesut Özil, the successful German player of Turkish heritage, has now signed on to a transfer to Spain's prestigious team Real Madrid.
Having garnered much success by shining in the World Cup, Real Madrid has offered to pay 15 million euros for the 21-year-old's transfer. As the first-ever Turkish player to join the Spanish team, it appears Mesut has signed on to Real Madrid for the next six years. This equates to a total pay out of 45 million euros by Real Madrid. According to sources, Özil will be signing the six-year contract in an official signing ceremony to be held in Madrid today.
