Fenerbahce maintains title charge

Emmanuel Emenike scored twice in the first half as Fenerbahce restored its seven-point lead at the top of the Super Lig standings with a 3-0 win at Gaziantepspor.

Emmanuel Emenike scored a brace for Fenerbahce as they beat Gaziantepspor 3-0 on Monday night, to extend their lead in the Turkish Super Lig table.


The 26-year-old opened scoring for the Canaries in the tenth minute of the game, and scored again in the 34th minute to double the advantage for the high-flying visitors before the break.
Senegalese striker Moussa Sow sealed the win for Fenerbahce with a 76th minute strike, after which Emenike was taken off for Pierre Webo two minutes later.
Emenike has now scored 12 goals in 22 appearances, counting the goal in the suspended game against Trabzonspor.
Fenerbahce who have a game in hand now hold a seven points lead over second placed Fenerbahce with 57 points from 25 games.
