A fresh breath for Cimbom

One of the busiest teams of the transfer market, Galatasaray, strengthened its midfield with addition of 24 years old Tolga Ciğerci. Tolga will sign a 4 year contract and earn 1,8 million Euros per year. Yellow reds will pay 2,5 million Euros as a transfer fee to German club.

Galatasaray, which signed Eren Derdiyork last friday, made another cruical transfer and signed Tolga Ciğerci. Tolga, whose name was linked with Galatasaray for a while, travelled to İstanbul after clubs agreed. Player's transfer reported to KAP after that and he will sign a four year contract after his medicals. Galatasaray management did not want to extend negotiations thinking about Super Cup game against Beşiktaş on August 13th and agreed to pay 2,5 million Euros to Hertha Berlin.

Riekerink is pleased with his signing
Tolga by the way will earn 1,8 million Euros guaranteed salary plus performance bonus per point. Tolga Ciğerci, who joined the team after Dzemaili couldn't meet Galatasaray's expectations in the pre season games, is known with his bellicose play on the midfield. It's reprted that, Galatasaray coach Jan Olde Riekerink is very pleased with Tolga's transfer. Tolga played with an average of 13 kilometres covered distance in 18 games last season.

Started in Wolfsburg
Tolga Ciğerci, who was born in March 23rd 1992 in Nordenham, Germany, started playing football at Wolfsburg's youth academy. He signed a professional contract with Wolfsburg in 2010. He was loaned to Monchengladbach for six months in 2012. Young midfielder signed a three year contract in 2014 with Hertha Belin, which he was loaned to the year before. He's known as a "warrior" on midfield an draws attention with his acuurate passing.

He chose Turkey
Germany born player chose to play for Turkish National Team but he has not called up to Turkish squad yet. Tolga played for German U19 National Team for 6 times and U20 team for 2 times and scored 1 goal before.

Candidate for Melo's place
Tolga Ciğerci has the quality to close most of the gaps on Galatasaray midfield. He's usually the one cover the most distance and play with the same tempo whole game. He can be the answer for Galatasaray's weaknesses like direct passing, fludity on offence. He can also bring back the toughness Galatasaray desperately needed since Melo left the team.
