Dick Advocaat addressed important issues about his team in his last report. He specially underlined the lack of resistance of his players and demanded to organize team meals with players' families to develop friendship. Here are headlines of Advocaat's report:
They don't have fun
Players don't play with their hearts, that is the biggest problem. Only Volkan Demirel, Mehmet Topal, Emenike and Volkan Şen show some heart in the pitch. This is especially foreign players' problem. Fenerbahçe is like a group of players, not a team. Team meals with families should begin again to solve that problem. Players see this as job they have to do. They don't enjoy what they do. Trainings are so stable. Football isn't a thing like this. They don't have fun, they're not friends.
More Excuses, no action
Everone has so many excuses. For example; they beleive last season "some hand from outside" made Beşiktaş champion. They think Braga eliminated them form UEFA Europa League because of referee. They beleive they were unseccussful because of their old coach (Vitor Pereira). Players never think they are wrong.
Weak players lay down
We're a very soft team. Yes, opponents foul us a lot but they're not hard enough to make you lay down for minutes. Players doesn't have any resistance. We have to be solid like a rock. Opponents should fall down when they touch my players.
They go straight to home after practices
Advocaat complained about lack of extra individual training: "They go straight to their home after practices. They spend 4-5 hours for Fenerbahçe. They should dedicate 7-8 hours to this club."
We need patience
Experienced coach said that he and his staff are working to make Fenerbahçe strangle opponents with its pressure like the old times. Advocaat added they need another 2-3 weeks for that.
